This is a download page for the subtitles for the first Umineko stage, "Stage of the Golden Witch".

In order to use the subtitles, you need to own a copy of the DVD. 

The download contains the subtitles file only.

There are two versions available: One with partial localization (leaving Japanese honorifics), and one with full localization. Feel free to pick your preferred version.


When playing a video or movie with VLC media player, you can simply delay or speed up the subtitle using keyboard shortcut G or H (J on Mac). Press G button to speed up the subtitle if it is behind sound. It will speed it up by 50ms. Press H (J on Mac) button to delay the subtitle if it is ahead of sound.

Please translate the second stage play as well!

Thanks for the translation! Watched the stageplay three times alredy, it really helps having subtitles. If it's possible for episode 2 to be translated, it would mean a lot

Hi ! I have a question, when I convert this file to SRT in order to synch it up with the video, the subtitles cut off completely around the 50 minute mark. Do you know why this is? Thank you for all your work!

I've used MPC-HC to convert them and haven't run into any problems! Don't know if that could help
